 The Growing Place (TGP) is a part of the Christian Education of First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables and welcomes children from all faiths and cultures. We also invite families to participate in the worship services and special programs of the church.
Our intent is to guide the children of our school to “learn” through discovery. We provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum for all age groups using High Reach and Funshine Express programs. We believe than when children are allowed to approximate, infer, synthesize, and analyze, information while manipulating objects, learning becomes meaningful. Learning should be a pleasant experience that not only motivates the child, but instills confidence, self-reliance, and independence.
Our Christian educators will provide opportunities for your child to grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually in a loving, nurturing, stimulating, non-stereotypical anti-bias environment.
Goals
- To introduce children to Jesus and His love.
- To provide, within a Christian context, the highest quality of early childhood education.
- To encourage children to develop into individuals who can sustain themselves, feel good about themselves, and grow into their full potential as a child of God.
- To provide a safe and secure environment.
- To contribute to the Christian nurturing of the family and,
- To be a church - community link.
