Introduction

The Growing Place (TGP) is a part of the Christian education Programs of First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables and welcomes children from all faiths and cultures. We also invite families to participate in the worship services and special programs of the church.

Our intent is to guide the children of our school to “learn” through discovery. We provide a developmentally appropriate curriculum for all age groups using Pinnacle Faith Based Program. We believe than when children are allowed to approximate, infer, synthesize, and analyze, information while manipulating objects, learning becomes meaningful. Learning should be a pleasant experience that not only motivates the child, but instills confidence, self- reliance, and independence.

Our Christian educators will provide opportunities for your child to grow socially, emotionally, cognitively, physically, and spiritually in a loving, nurturing, stimulating, non-stereotypical anti-bias environment.

• To introduce children to Jesus and His love.
• To provide, within a Christian context, the highest quality of early childhood education.
• To encourage children to develop into individuals who can sustain themselves, feel good about themselves, and grow into their full potential as a child of God.

Non-Discrimination Admission Policy

TGP accepts children of any race, color, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

2009 - 2010 Programs Available

Nursery
Hours: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Annual registration fee: $225

Walkers – Children born in the year 2008

(Children DO NOT need to be potty trained.)

Toddlers
Hours: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
Annual registration fee: $300

Pre-School
Hours: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Annual registration fee: $350

• Early 3’s – Children who turn three between September 1, 2009 – December 31, 2009
• Pre-K- Children who turn three by September 1, 2009
• Pre-K 4* – Children who will turn four by September 1, 2009

Children MUST be potty trained. (Potty trained means that the child is self-sufficient when using the bathroom)

Kindergarten
Hours: 9:00 am – 2:30 pm
Annual registration fee: $425

Children who will turn five by September 1, 2009

Optional Programs

Early Morning Care (EMC)
Is available daily starting at 8:00 am at $5 per hour.

After School Care (ASC)
Is available daily until 3:30 pm at $5 per hour.

(These programs are NOT available the first and last weeks of school.)

Discounts

• FUMCCG members are exempt from the registration fees.
• Siblings receive a 50% discount off the registration fee and a $15 discount off the monthly tuition.
