Volunteering at FUMCCG

"Everyone can be great because everyone can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't even have to make your subject and your verb agree... You only need a heart full of grace...a soul generated by love."

                                                                                                   —Martin Luther King, Jr.

"Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can."

--John Wesley, Co-founder of the Methodist Church

United Methodists have always believed that each of us is called to use our unique God-given talents and gifts and help in every way and everywhere we can. Volunteering is a wonderful way to put our faith into action and lies at the very heart of our Christian calling.

During our 2017 Vision Session, "Charting a New Course," we committed to doing more good in more places. We, therefore, heartily encourage each of you - our loving church family and friends- to join us on our generosity of spirit adventure to be the change we want to see in the world!

We are proud to announce another exciting opportunity to keep the good going, as we celebrate the joyous occasion of the official launching of our Spanish ministry: our "Rise Against Hunger" event takes place Saturday, September 16! This hands-on service event will include the packaging of highly nutritious dehydrated meals comprised of rice, soy, vegetables, and 23 essential vitamins and minerals; and provide immediate relief to parts of the world where hunger's devastating effects are happening right now.

But we need you! Save September 16 on your calendar as a day of action against hunger and in favor of love! Be sure to stay connected to your church for information on how you can be the change you want to see.

Kristi House Project Gold Outreach of Love and Kindness

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this very special opportunity to spend time with some truly inspirational young ladies during our previous outreach!  We would like to also thank the young women who welcomed us into their lives and filled us with inspiration and awe. We look forward to developing a long and lasting friendship!

If you missed this wonderful opportunity the first time, be sure to sign up for the upcoming gathering on May 23 and experience the beauty of perseverance and faith in real life!

Background  | About this event:

Human trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery. Traffickers take advantage of vulnerable persons with false promises or physical abduction, forcing them into contract slavery, forced labor and sexual trafficking. We invite our church members to join us on for a very special outreach to spread hope and love to the young victims of human trafficking that are being helped by the Kristi House' Project Gold. The Project Gold program provides outreach and services to children exploited in sex trafficking, helping them see a better future for themselves and restore their lives.

If you want to participate but cannot attend that day, you can also contribute by preparing a dish to be served!

WHAT:                Serve and share a meal with the courageous young ladies of Project Gold.
