First UMC Coral Gables Children's Ministry and Programs
The Children’s Ministry at First United Methodist Church of Coral Gables offers many fun and enriching programs and opportunities for your children to grow in their faith and learn more about God’s amazing work in the world!
First UMC Coral Gables will host an orientation session on Sunday, March 4, from 12:30 p.m.-1:45 p.m., in the Sanctuary for all 4th-8th graders who are interested in serving as Acolytes and participate in the worship services. Acolytes are trained and dedicated to carry in and out the light of Christ during the 11:00 a.m. worship service.
If you or your child is interested in serving Christ and the church as an acolyte, please contact Rev. Vidalis Lopez at firstname.lastname@example.org or Rebecca Gonzalez at email@example.com. You may also sign up at our website, by clicking on the red Volunteer tab in the upper right-hand corner.

Meet the New Children's Ministry Sunday School Coordinator, Livia Orban
My name is Livia Orban and I am so happy to have the privilege to serve the Lord in my new position as the Children’s Ministry Sunday School Coordinator. My wish is that each child will come to know the amazing love of God in his/her life. Working as a community, we will help our precious kids to become solid in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Throughout my studies, I have earned a bachelor's degree in physical education, post-graduate degree in reading and writing and a master’s equivalent degree in early childhood education from universities in my native Brazil. As an educator, I have over 15 years of extensive experience working as a pre-school teacher and involved in children’s programs and activities. My previous position was as Lead Teacher here at The Growing Place, where I taught with love and happiness for the past three years.
I have a wonderful husband, Kyle, and we are happily awaiting our first child, a baby girl named Bianca. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, traveling, cooking and spending time with family. I feel blessed to be part of this great mission – to introduce a new generation to the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is inviting us all to participate in a faith built on love, kindness, and hope for the future. It is my wish and prayer that God uses my gifts to contribute to our church in a meaningful and impactful way.
